National Exchange Club Foundation

National Exchange Club Foundation FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions)

Q: What does the Foundation do?
A: Our purpose is to support the national project of child abuse prevention AND the programs of service (youth projects, Americanism, community service) of the National Exchange Club.
Q: How is it supported?
A: The majority of our funds come from our dues supplement of $6 per year, per member. This amount has remained unchanged since our beginning in 1979. Additional funds are generated through member contributions and other fundraising efforts.
Q: How are funds spent?
A: Services to clubs and centers, as well as youth scholarships comprise much of our budget expenditure. Foundation staff provide training, accreditation, technical support, and other services - free of charge - to local CAP Centers. Public awareness materials, information, and guidance on programs are provided to Exchange Clubs.
Q: How is the Foundation managed?
A: A Board of Trustees provides policy and fiduciary oversight for the Foundation. Four Trustees are elected by NEC Convention delegates; the remainder are appointed by NEC leadership groups to facilitate the relationship between the two organizations. The Foundation is managed by an executive director.
Q: Is my contribution tax-deductible?
A: The Foundation is registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 5013, charitable organization. Your contribution is tax deductible as allowed by law.
Q: Are there long range goals?
A: The Board of Trustees has developed a strategic plan, which provides continuity for existing projects while enabling us to expand our horizons. Key elements of the strategic plan focus on enhancing communications within our own networks and creating a stronger image of Exchange.
Q: What will secure our future?
A: In addition to fundraising efforts to support ongoing operational expenses, we encourage support of our endowment through Berkey Fellowships, Dr. North Society, and other contributions.
Q: How can I help?
A: Your on-going support is critical to continue existing programs and expand our efforts. Your tax-deductible contribution is our lifeline.
Q: What giving options do I have?
A: We have many options to suite your needs. Contact the Development Department at 800-924-2643 or development@nationalexchangeclub.org to discuss your estate planning needs and other tax deductible ways you can support your National Exchange Club Foundation.
